Discing aTrophy

Discing a Trophy

As i took on a puff of smoke, i passed by a cleaner.
He had a trophy in his right hand, and a rubbish bag on his left, with a peculiar expression while looking at the trophy.

A puzzled expression, "why is this trophy thrown away?"

Tokens like trophies, medals, plagues, certificates, buttons are often given out as a form of encouragement and recognition. They appear at sports meets, appreciation dinners, graduation ceremonies, events and well, weddings.

Encouragements and recognitions, tools of encouragement and recognition.
Tools.

Do they mean much to each individual? Yes, i would say. For people like encouragements and recognitions. They are like little presents for our ego. "good job, now you have the boasting rights"

Does it really matter in the long run?

Maybe yes. Maybe no.

We often forget easily, more so for happy things than for sad things, positive things than for negative things, weddings than funerals, victories than defeats.

We are inert, our bodies and minds seek only for self satisfaction.
